In the Eyes of a Woman I Called Mom

You’ve taught me love, efforts, and perseverance,
You’ve given me all the money in the world cannot buy,
You’ve showered me with strength, affection, and patience,
You’ve given me all the power in the world cannot pay.

Your soft hands that used to hold me when I cried are now getting weaker as time goes by,
Your warm smile just as heartfelt as it has always been and it gives me strength to go on,
Your small body that used to carry me before I was born is now getting older as time passes by,
Your soft voice just as heartwarming as it has always been and it gives me passion to move on.

In your eyes, I know what you’ve been through and how strong you’ve endured,
In your eyes, I know what you feel and how deep the affection you have for us,
In your eyes, I know what you’re praying for and how sincere your hopes are,
In your eyes, I see love, I see the endless warmth of a woman I called Mom, I see life.

You know I’ve always been a weird and insolent one,
But I’m always ready to give my everything whenever you ask for,
And you know I’m often not capable to confess my feeling toward anyone,
But let me just show you through this how much I love you more and more.

And today, let me give my gratitude towards the universe,
For letting you born into this world,
For giving you the life,
And let me give my gratitude towards you,
For being born into this world,
For carrying me and giving life to me,
For living strongly, passionately, and perseverance,
For never giving up on me and always believing in me,
I thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
