Feeling begins from a
perception. For some people, sometimes we just knew it from the very beginning when
we met someone. We got the feeling about what would happen next. We got the
depiction about what would be if we got to know that person. And for some
people, it was just meant to be. And I guess there is always a particular
person for everyone whom we feel that way. Somehow we just knew it that the
person is going to mean something in our life; perhaps becoming our significant
other one day. We can sense it from the very first time we met that person. We can
feel it from every interaction we have with that person. We can see it through
their eyes. And in a minute, without even doing anything, we are already
enchanted to that person. And from the very beginning, we got the image of
dreams and things that we could achieve together with that person. It is as if
the presence of that person has completed our world. It’s like finding a
missing part of the puzzle. Everything just seems so right and fall right into
place.
“Knew he was a killer
first time that I saw him; wonder how many girls he had loved and left haunted.
But if he’s a ghost then I can be a phantom, holding him for ransom. Some boys
are trying too hard, he don’t try at all though; younger than my exes but he
act like such a man, so I see nothing better. I keep him forever, like a
vendetta.” –Taylor
Swift, ...Ready For It?
The thing about
Taytay is that I always adore her. However, every time her new album comes out,
I just get the sense that this new album will not be as good as her previous.
However (again) though, as time passes by I just got enchanted with her new
song; and especially, as always, her lyrics. Just like now, it took
about seven months for me to finally be able to let “Reputation” into my mind.
I just cannot help but falling in love with her lyrics now. And I can sense
that she is truly in love with her new two-year-younger beau, Joe Alwyn, from
her lyrics. And this one, titled “...Ready For It?” is just one of them. It was
released on October 24th 2017 as the second single taken from her sixth studio
album, “Reputation”. Taytay wrote it along with her producers Max Martin,
Shellback, and Ali Payami. Joseph Kahn directed the music video for this
electropop track, which was premiered on October 26th 2017. Apparently, though
her music is changing all over the years, the ‘core’ Taylor Swift is always
there. The ‘old’ Taylor might be dead; and we are having the ‘new’ Taylor now.
However, I know that Taytay is same old Taytay with her straightforward yet
beautiful lyrics.

I wonder why girls
fall easily for bad guys. Well, I guess they just have the undeniable charisma
that cannot be avoided. Perhaps it’s in their gorgeous smiling face. Perhaps it’s
in their deep and haunting eyes. Perhaps it’s in their tall figure and soft voice.
Perhaps it’s in their attitude that provokes our curiosity. However, yes, that
kind of guy doesn’t even have to try hard to get our attention. For me, it only
took a deep and long stare from the upstairs to take my breath away in a
second. I wonder how many girls he had loved and left haunted or about to, but
all I know is that I could be the one who is compatible with him, because I
knew the potential from the very beginning. And I’ll keep him forever. “Knew he was a killer first time that I saw
him; wonder how many girls he had loved and left haunted. But if he’s a ghost
then I can be a phantom, holding him for ransom. Some boys are trying too hard,
he don’t try at all though; younger than my exes but he act like such a man, so
I see nothing better. I keep him forever, like a vendetta.”
I wonder whether
people can really change because of love. Perhaps they don’t really change.
Instead, they just become another version of themselves; whether it’s better or
worse or always something in between. For me, when a love is true and real, it
makes me forget all the love I have had before. Suddenly, the past doesn’t mean
anything anymore. Nothing can compare to what we have now because we are
compatible in every way like Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, or Simone de
Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Sartre, or simply Bonnie and Clyde. And if he was a
killer, I was no better than him. I was a robber; hence I feel confident that I
could be a compatible partner; that we are compatible in every way. “Knew I was a robber first time that he saw
me; stealing hearts and running off and never saying sorry. But if I’m a thief,
then he can join the heist, and we’ll move to an island; and he can be my
jailer, Burton to this Taylor. Every love I’ve known in comparison is a failure,
I forget their names now. I’m so very tame now, never be the same now.”
I wonder whether
people can really knew from the very beginning that they were meant to be with
their significant other. It turns out that they can. For me, I always know. I
can always sense ‘the one’ right from the start. “I see how this is gonna go. Touch me, and you’ll never be alone. Island
breeze and lights down low; no one has to know.” No, I’m definitely not a
God or Goddess. And no matter what tomorrow brings, all I know is that we have
the potential to achieve incredible things when we are together. And all I know
is that we can always make our dreams come true if we are together. “In the middle of the night, in my dreams, you
should see the things we do, baby. In the middle of the night in my dreams, I
know I’m gonna be with you, so I take my time. Are you ready for it?” And
yes, I’m not going to rush it. For I know that what is meant to be will always
be. Hence I take my time. And I’m just going to let the games begin, because together
we can seize the day and bring dreams into reality. And we’re going to be
together; I just know it. “Baby, let the
games begin.”

For some people, like
me, when they fall, they fall hard; because we actually are hard to fall, so
once we do, we go all the way down. We used to just steal hearts and just leave
without saying sorry, but once we really fall in love, we become so tame and we
stay falling for good. And yes, it’s hard to resist once we fall hard for the
particular someone. And yes, for some people, there is always this someone who
has the ability to take away every scar from the past and turn them into
diamond in our heart. And we can sense it from the very beginning that the
particular person is our kind. And we got the feeling right from the start that
together we can conquer the universe and grasp the world in our palms. That person
has a particular something that we really need; something that could complete
and equalize us. And the potential is just too hard to resist. We bare it all
for that person; and we know that person would do the same too. And even after
we’ve seen it all, still, the potential is hard to resist. And whether we are
ready or not, we just got to let the games begin.
