The Cadency of Home
Was it that
night, the night when you told me the drunken truth?
You hold my
hands tight as you declared the drunken promise.
And I
wonder whether you would even remember it when the morning comes.
Was it that
night, the night when you showed me the deepest wound?
You kissed
my lips as you put a closure to the deepest confession.
And I
wonder whether you would even remember it when the sun rises.
Was it that
night, the night when you recited the honest feeling?
You embraced
me all through the night until the dawn and never let me go.
And I
wonder whether you would remember it when tomorrow comes.
Our surrounding
was crowded yet we had our sacred solitude,
You were
out of control but all I can see is only the charms.
The music
was so loud yet we were in the harmony of our own etude.
I caressed
all of your fears, hopes, worries, dreams in my arms.
Amidst the
chaotic world around us we had each other as gratitude.
Together we
were keeping us safe from all the harms.
Was it the
day after, when you woke up and stared at me?
As if you
just saw an angel, as you gathered the pieces from the night before.
I smiled, a token of my promise to battle your fears and
foster our dreams.
