Locked Out of Heaven
Let’s talk about sex. We’re all adults (or, well, at least I believe that everyone who goes to my blog page is an adult), so why don’t we talk about this issue. It’s time already. So, have you ever met someone you feel connected so much, and because of the intense emotions, you feel like you love to make love to that person, not as an act but as an event? I believe that we’ve all been there. Well, I’ve been there. Two people connect; two people cannot get enough of each other; and when we meet a person like that, we cannot get enough of sharing a piece of heaven with that person, whether it’s physically or emotionally. There is a difference between “making love” and “having sex”. “Making love” is definitely a sexual activity. However in terms of emotional condition, it’s far beyond “having sex”. So, which kind of sex am I going to talk here? It’s definitely the “making love”-kind of sex. In some relationships, ones punishes the other by denying or controlling sex, or maybe ones feels like the other doesn’t enjoy the sex and just do it to fulfill a need or a sense of responsibility; well, that’s the examples of some dysfunctional relationship. When you both feel so much for each other, the barrier between man and woman is no longer exist; it’s called sincerity and that way making love is amazing. Just so you know, women want to make love just as much as men.
“Never had much faith in love or
miracles. Never wanna put my heart on the line. But swimming in your water is
something spiritual. I’m born again every time you spend the night.”
–Bruno Mars, Locked Out Of Heaven
There is this sexy song performed by Bruno Mars titled “Locked Out Of
Heaven”. It was released on October 1st 2012 as the lead single taken from the
singer’s second studio album, “Unorthodox Jukebox”. The album itself was
released on December 7th 2012. This reggae rock track was written by Mars
himself along with Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine of The Smeezingtons. A music
video for the song was directed by Cameron Duddy and Mars himself, and was
released on October 15th 2012. Lyrically, though directly talk about sex, it is
simply about someone who finally found the one. It contains an obvious
comparison of being with a loved one to being in heaven.

I guess it’s true
when they say that we never know how to appreciate a ray of sunlight when we
never feel being soaked under the hard rain. It’s also so true when they say
that we would never know how to love and be loved when we never feel pain and
heartbroken. We’ve all been hurt before, and we’ve sworn to ourselves to never
be hurt again. However, when we meet someone who means so much for us, we will
be willing to let down our guard. And when that time comes with the right
person too, then the feeling is amazing. “Never
had much faith in love or miracles. Never wanna put my heart on the line. But
swimming in your water is something spiritual. I’m born again every time you
spend the night.” Making love to someone is like sharing our lives to them
and by doing so can make us so happy. It is the closest to heaven that we can
feel. We share the moment without feeling embarrassed or inhibited or ever feel
like we’re unwanted. We want, crave and ache to feel each other, please each other,
and become as close as we can to one another.
There were times, for
some people, when we used to be happy-go-lucky kind of person who pursue some
no-strings-attached “good time” and didn’t take relationship seriously. However,
there will be a time when we meet a certain person and by being together with
this one person we could feel a deeper feeling than usual. “You bring me to my knees, you make me testify. You can make a sinner
change his ways. Open up your gates ‘cause I can’t wait to see the light. And
right there is where I wanna stay.” When we think about truly loving
someone, it takes about being vulnerable and completely open with our emotion. When
we truly love someone, we open up our guard automatically; we’re being
vulnerable, open, and loving completely. And when we finally could find someone
that we can love like that, then where else we would want to stay but beside
them? For making love with that person would feel magical and spiritual; a
little closer to heaven. For making love with that person could make us feel
enlightened and purified, just like heaven.
We used to think that
those usual “good time” are good, but when we meet that certain person, being
with that person is beyond everything we’ve ever felt before. And then we
finally come to a realization that those “good time” before were nothing
compared to this one. “Your sex takes me
to paradise. And it shows. ‘Cause you make me feel like I’ve been locked out of
heaven for too long.” It is great and it brings us happiness. And when we
compare the feeling for that person to other past relationships, it feels like
we share heaven with that person everytime we’re together. Everytime we make
love, we share something we’ve never felt before. “Can I just stay here? Spend the rest of my days here? Can’t I just
stay here? Spend the rest of my days here?” This kind of feeling is so
intense that it makes us seriously consider that person to be “the one” that
meant forever for us. Then again, where else we would want to stay but beside
our soulmate? In a place where we can find a peace of mind, where we can feel
closer to heaven; there is where we want to be.

It’s not a tragedy if you fall in love again. It’s not a tragedy when
your newer relationship is much better than the past. There is a time for
everything. Without your past experience, you would never know how it really
feels to be truly in love with someone. When you find someone who has a deep
emotional connection with you; someone who is compassionate, loving, and genuinely
care about you, then you know you are with the one who really meant for you. When
you find someone whom you can share the heavenly truth with; someone who can
make you realize that you never experienced such an emotional and spiritual
connection with, then you know you belong with that person. Someone like that
is like a truth and light in your life. It may sounds a bit utopis, but I dare
to tell you that it happens. If you haven’t met that person yet, then believe
that someday you will find a person who can make you feel like you’ve been
locked out of heaven all this time before meeting that person. For being
together with that person will make you feel the closest thing to heaven. For making
love with that person will make you experience a sexual relationship that has
spiritual roots. Rather than your bodies meet together, it’s like your souls that
make love to each other.
“You bring me to my knees, you
make me testify. You can make a sinner change his ways. Open up your gates
‘cause I can’t wait to see the light. And right there is where I wanna stay.”
–Bruno Mars, Locked Out Of Heaven
