Have you ever felt like, you’re in love with someone, but your love is just taken for granted? Have you ever felt like, you care so much for someone, but you’re just being benched all this time? Okay, technically I gave out those two questions for girls. And for you guys, who feel that you have taken someone for granted, or have benched someone, you better stop right now. Those things just hurt so much. Even those men of Backstreet Boys knew when to stop doing stupid things like that to the women who has been loving them deeply and caring so much about them. See? Now you know why we just love BSB so much. Before it all becomes too late, before you could lose the one real thing you would have ever known, boys, just show the shape of your heart.
“Sadness is beautiful loneliness
that’s tragical. So help me, I can’t win this war, oh no. Touch me now, don’t
bother, if every second it makes me weaker you can save me from the man I’ve
become.” –Backstreet Boys, Shape
of My Heart
Today’s song for Band of
Brothers is a song titled “Shape of My Heart”, performed by the legendary
then-boy-band-now-male-vocal-group Backstreet Boys. The song was topping my
list of 8 Backstreet Boys’ Everlasting Songs on number one position. The medium-tempo pop ballad track was
released on October 3rd 2000 as the lead single from the group’s fourth studio
album, “Black & Blue”, with the album was released later on November 21st
2000. “Shape of My Heart” was written by Max Martin, Rami Yacoub, and Lisa

Sometimes, when we are loved, we can unconsciously be very cruel towards the person who loves us. Somehow, because we know we are loved, we take it for granted, and subconsciously hurt that person who loves us. Lyrically, “Shape of My Heart” tells about someone who realizes that he/she doesn’t ever wanted to do that again. “Baby, please try to forgive me. Stay here, don’t put out the glow. Hold me now, don’t bother, if every minute it makes me weaker you can save me from the man that I’ve become.” We realize that we’ve been deceiving the person we care about in life, and it has been hurting that person, and us too. So we’re asking for forgiveness and help, for a chance to change, to make things better. “Sadness is beautiful loneliness that’s tragical. So help me, I can’t win this war, oh no. Touch me now, don’t bother, if every second it makes me weaker you can save me from the man I’ve become.”
We’re coming clean and
showing that person who we really are. And it starts with showing them the
shape of our hearts. “I’m here with my
confession, got nothing to hide no more. I don’t know where to start, but to
show you the shape of my heart.” There’s always a chance for people who are
willing to try. And a gentleman always knows when to stop fooling around and
starting to do what’s right. A gentleman always knows how to reflect. He knows
what to let go and what to hold onto. “I’m
looking back on things I’ve done. I never wanna play the same old part. I’ll
keep you in the dark. Now let me show you the shape of my heart.” Because
in the end, we all know, a man will always come back to the woman who can save
him from the man he has become, and that’s a real deal. “Looking back on the things I’ve done, I was trying to be someone. I
played my part, kept you in the dark. Now let me show you the shape of my
heart.”
The music video for “Shape
of My Heart” was directed by Matthew Rolston. With 61 days spent at the top
position, the video broke BSB’s own record for longest running number-one song
on MTV’s “Total Request Live”, which was previously held by “Larger Than Life”
that they released a year prior to “Shape of My Heart”. As if that was not
enough, the song also earned a nomination during the 44th Grammy Awards for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. For me personally,
the song’s sincerity has made it into my top of mind.

“Baby, please try to forgive
me, stay here, don’t put out the glow
Hold me now, don’t bother,
if every minute it makes me weaker
You can save me from the man
that I’ve become, oh yeah
Looking back on the things
I’ve done, I was trying to be someone
I played my part, kept you
in the dark, now let me show you the shape of my heart
Sadness is beautiful

You can save me from the man

I’m here with my confession,

but to show you the shape of my heart

Show you the shape of my
