“When flower petals fall, don’t
open your eyes, until all beautiful flowers have bloomed. When your love ceases
to be, leave me without words, because I’m afraid if my memories will be
stained.” –Lee Sun Hee, Where the
Love Falls [translated lyrics]
Program acara musik
“Immortal Songs 2: Singing the Legend” episode 147 merupakan bagian kedua dari
edisi spesial yang menampilkan Lee Sun Hee sebagai legenda. Episode 147 ini
mengudara di stasiun televisi KBS pada tanggal 5 April 2014, serta ditayangkan
di channel KBS World pada tanggal 26
April 2014. The two-parts special
episodes were a homage to Lee Sun Hee for the 30th anniversary of her career as
singer-songwriter in South Korea. Tampil membawakan salah satu lagu hits Lee dalam episode 147 adalah The One.
Solois pria bernama asli Jung Sun Won ini menampilkan lagu ballad bertajuk “Where the Love Falls”. Penampilannya tersebut
merupakan kedua kalinya ia hadir dalam “Immortal Songs 2”, setelah sebelumnya
hadir pada edisi spesial Deulgukhwa (episode 100 dan 101). And now, he comes back
stronger than ever.
“Where
the Love Falls” is a song about love and pain that come in one package.
Those who fall in love would know how the
feel in pain. And this song is about
someone who have to separate with their beloved one just in the time when
they’re really in love. “When flower petals fall, don’t open your eyes,
until all beautiful flowers have bloomed. When your love ceases to be, leave me
without words, because I’m afraid if my memories will be stained.” Where there’s love, there will be pain too. And
indeed, there’s always somebody for
someone that no matter how bad that person hurts them, they could always take that person back for good; back again to those days when they’re in
love. There’s always somebody for
someone that no matter how many painful things that person leaves them, they could always forgive and forget just by
a little love that still remains. “Where the love falls, that’s where
sorrowful memories remain. Don’t open your eyes, I don’t want you to see me
cry. Whenever you miss me, you can come back to me. We can go back to the days
when we were madly in love, I want to go back.”
Dirilis pertama kali
pada tahun 1988, “Where the Love Falls” merupakan lead single sekaligus title
song dari album keempat Lee Sun Hee. The
beautiful melody and Lee Sun Hee’s clear voice in this song touched many
people’s hearts. Lee’s soft and
strong voice stands out in this song. The
One’s interpretation of this song was just amazing. It’s like the roar of a man who was hurt by love, a man filled with wounds and longing. He showed the epitome of sorrowfulness when
a man loves. Indeed he has a charisma
that could command the stage, with
his strong voice as his main instrument. The One’s strong rendition of “Where the Love Falls” made him the
winner of that Lee Sun Hee special episode and brought home the “Immortal Songs
2” trophy for the first time in his second visit on the show. It was a powerful yet heartwrenching ballad
performance, and definitely one of
The One’s best performances.
