Until the Morning Brightens

I can’t fill the emptiness I feel today, I’ll have to try and fill it tomorrow. Where my soul can rest in my dreams, I’ll continue in search of my love.” –Deulgukhwa, Until the Morning Brightens [translated lyrics]

“Until the Morning Brightens” is a song about going through deep regrets then dreaming again. It tells about a man that has a breakup with the one he loves, but somehow he finds a way to bear with it and continue to dream a new love. As the long day ends, our pains are weighing on our hearts. As the dark night comes, the emptiness is tiring our body and soul. Then we realize that we got to rest, until the bright morning comes, and as it happens, we have to keep trying to fill our emptiness and searching for our love. Sometimes when our hardships are troubling and weighing us down, it’s not the physical exhaustion that matter, but the mental exhaustion instead. “The physical fatigue will melt away, but will the pain of my soul subside?” The more we ask ourselves that one question, the more we get to understand that it’s none other that ourselves who must get us back to the track and not getting buried in despair. As the bright morning comes, we can face the new day with our head hold high.

Moon Myung Jin ketika membawakan lagu "Until the Morning Brightens" pada program "Immortal Songs 2" Episode 101

Ia berkata, “I like this song as soon as I heard it. I really wanted to sing this song. I started tearing up as soon as I heard it. I had a really strong feel from it, a desperate soul perhaps. It really tugged at my heart as I listened.” And indeed, his performance was worth the win.
