Stigma

As if my heart is burnt, as if my tears are stabbing right through me, these unfading wounds are painful. Am I living or dead already? Has the world abandoned me? A day feels like a year. When will the morning come?” –Yim Jae Bum, Stigma (OST. The Slave Hunters) [translated lyrics]

Solois pria, Wheesung, melakukan comeback di dunia musik Korea Selatan, setelah selama dua tahun menempuh kewajibannya sebagai pria warga negara Korea Selatan. Yup, fresh from the army, Wheesung made his comeback through the music program “Immortal Songs 2: Singing the Legend”. Back on 2011, he performed on “Immortal Songs 2” just before he joined army. Now in 2013, he came straight to “Immortal Songs 2” after he finished his service. Wheesung stated that he volunteered to join the show when he knew that Yim Jae Bum would be the legend on that episode. Yes, Wheesung made his appearance on episode 124 where Yim Jae Bum was the legend on that very episode.
As the title song of the drama, “Stigma” reaffirmed Yim Jae Bum’s popularity once again and for all. His soulful and deep voice matched the drama’s plot. Like the drama itself, the song gained immense popularity.

“The memory keeps breathing between these two dry lips. No matter how hard I try to erase you, my heart can’t forget you. Even if I’m sad that I can’t see you again, how can I ever forget you?” Tentang ratapan akan rasa lelah yang melanda. Tentang keputusasaan akan pencarian yang tak berujung. Tentang harapan akan penantian yang tak berkesudahan. “The night slowly goes become an eternal darkness, what can I do to forget you?”
“Stigma” was Wheesung’s first performance since he’s been discharge from the army, also his first performance in two years. This performance marked the return of the sentimental vocalist. However, no matter how great the remake version is, I would still prefer the original version one. The original triggered me to watch the drama series, and it didn’t disappoint me at all. This song goes so well with the drama’s atmosphere.

With my heart that is too tired and poor to even groan, with this weary soul of my heart, I comfort myself. If this doesn’t work, if holding back doesn’t work, I’m frozen. My steps guide me only to one way.” –Yim Jae Bum, Stigma (OST. The Slave Hunters) [translated lyrics]
