No Answer

Saturday, December 31, 2016

Her heart was shattered that last week of December.

Doors were closed,
beds left empty,
sheets left undone,
lights were out,
nobody’s home as she walked through the rooms.
Water was dripping slowly,
clock was ticking by itself,
wind blew hard outside,
swept away the fallen leaves,
as she dialed some numbers on her phone.

No answer.
She called out but there was no answer.
She kept on calling but there was no answer.
She kept on calling until it hurts but there was no answer.

The night was creeping,
the silence was haunting,
in the darkness she was crying,
longing for the one she was waiting.

She called out,
but there was no answer.
