People say that everyone can’t live alone. That they eventually need someone at every point in their lives; found. But people also say that everyone needs some times all alone. That they eventually got to let go of someone at some point in their lives; lost. Living life itself is a lonely thing to do. And everyone lives trying to wash away that loneliness. That way we meeting people, knowing them, loving them, having friendships, relationships, before eventually separating, going in a different path. And sometimes, we might be lonely letting those people go, especially the one that means so much, the one so precious. And sometimes, rather than the people themselves, we might be lonelier letting the feelings go, the love, the affection, the longing, the trust. We meet people, know them, love them, and can’t help but getting hurt. Because pain comes from the one whom we love the most, trust the most, but they abandon easily. And loneliness comes from the one whom we expect the most to stay, but they leave anyway.

You said you would come back again. You said it would only take a moment. You told me to just stand and wait in here. It was a lie.” –Lee Juck, Lie Lie Lie (거짓말 거짓말 거짓말)

This is the first Korean song for Lost and Found; a song titled “Lie Lie Lie (거짓말 거짓말 거짓말)”, performed by the prominent singer-songwriter Lee Juck. The song was served as the promotional track as well as the lead single for his fifth studio album, “The Meaning of Solitude (고독의 의미)”, which was released on November 18th 2013. “Lie Lie Lie (거짓말 거짓말 거짓말)” is a melancholic ballad with a strong piano instrumental; a refreshing pure ballad in the middle of electronic dance music that dominates the Kpop universe nowadays. Lee’s emotional voice sings about the heart-breaking betrayal of someone who was once trusted. It’s a very heart-wrenching love song, as Lee stated that he wrote the lyrics about being abandoned by a lover, the feeling of loss and disappointment, blames and resentment, and loneliness.

The lyrics of “Lie Lie Lie (거짓말 거짓말 거짓말)” tell about a person who’s left behind by lover. Neglecting the reality, by saying that it’s all just a lie. For some people, when they fall in love, they fall hard. They give all of them in it. They go all-in. They trust with all their hearts. They put everything at risk. “You said you would come back again. You said it would only take a moment. You told me to just stand and wait in here. It was a lie. I was blankly standing here as the sun goes down. Crouching down through the deep night. But you didn’t show up in the end. It was a lie.” For some people, when they fall in love, they fall deep. They keep waiting, in hope that the person will come as they had been promised before. They keep believing, but that person doesn’t come in the end. So when the trust is being violated, they begin to wonder; was there something wrong? Did it all go to waste? Was it in vain? Was I not worthy at all?
“You said nothing was my fault. You said I’m a good person. You said you would embrace my scars too. It was a lie. I was being left alone once again. All memories were thrown and cast away. In the end, I guessed I wasn’t worthy. It was a lie.” For some people, when they fall in love, they fall once and for good. They fill up anything in their lives with it. They make it their everything for them. So when it’s gone and disappear, more than just anger, they feel disappointed. They’re lost. Empty. And all that remain is coldness. “Only you, the one that I was waiting for endlessly. Only your words, things that I truly believed in until the end. The street was frozen by the cold wind, I was frozen up in coldness too.” Indeed, pain comes from the one whom we love the most, trust the most, but they abandone us easily. And loneliness comes from the one whom we expect the most to stay, but they leave us anyway. “I truly believed in until the end. But it was a lie.”

The music video for “Lie Lie Lie (거짓말 거짓말 거짓말)” was premiered on Mnet on November 4th 2013, and later was released through Loen Entertainment’s official YouTube channel on November 14th 2013 . It’s hard to mistake Lee Juck for anyone else because of his very distinct voice. That unusual voice was probably one of the major reasons why he’s still survived in the arena of South Korean music industry, among the domination of idol groups nowadays. His music instantly grabbed music lovers’ attention for its beautiful lyrics and moving melodies. It’s filled with such simple, yet deeply emotional pieces, which represent his deeply philosophical thoughts and musical ideas. Lee’s vocal and piano performances have become much richer over the years and he has shown how much he has evolved as a musician.

I was being left alone once again. All memories were thrown and cast away. In the end, I guessed I wasn’t worthy. It was a lie.” –Lee Juck, Lie Lie Lie (거짓말 거짓말 거짓말)
