Up in the silent night sky, at a place where one small cloud is drifted away by the wind blows, a lost bird is looking for its nest.” –Kim Jung Ho, Little Bird [translated lyrics]

Huh Gak ketika membawakan lagu "Little Bird" pada program "Immortal Songs 2" episode 85

As for the lyrics, the different between the late Kim Jung Ho’s version and Onions’ version can be find in the second verse. In the late Kim’s version, it’s said “in a lonesome flock”, while in the Onions’ version, that part is replaced with “towards the south”. Even though it’s different in that little part, “Little Bird” is a song about life. Just like other the late Kim’s songs, the lyrics of “Little Bird” are so poetic. It’s a story of human’s life with a little bird as metaphor. “Up in the silent night sky, at a place where one small cloud is drifted away by the wind blows, a lost bird is looking for its nest.” Like a lost bird looking for its nest, human is a wanderer in search for their home. Even though the wind of life is blowing hard, although the darkness of life is all around, they keep on wondering all the time. “The day is drawing near and the moon is waning, but will it be able to fly far up in the sky? The poor little bird is flying in a lonesome flock. It’s flying to the sky in a longing search of its nest.” Indeed, we’re all like the lonely little bird. Trying hard to fly up high, facing all the hardships in life, longing for one thing called home.
